OUR COMMUNITY SKILLS DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

The unemployment rate for the youth younger than 25 as per stats SA, using the expanded definition, is a shockingly high 67.4%. Clearly, the rate of youth unemployed has become a national crisis, with significant social, economic and political implications.

Increasing employment in South Africa has to be the number one economic, political and social objective, and can only be resolved meaningfully through a concerted and sustained effort to improve skills development. As part of our Community Skills Development Program we provide such training as, Basic Fire Fighting, First Aid, Overhead Crane and Other Soft Skill Training to empower the local community around us. This is also part of our commitment to the Black Economic Empowerment (BEE), to develop skills and intensify the employment market.

Our purpose is to empower the youth to learn and develop their own skills and have positive prospects for their future. Our community development short courses have managed to do exactly that with the few learners that have attended our training. Here is one of many testimonies from the learners that have attended our training programs:

When I heard about the Basic Fire Fighting short course offered by Exclusive Training and Services through their social community development program, I immediately jumped into the opportunity and applied and was fortunate enough to be offered a chance to come study. Before then I was unemployed as the program began but one must say that not only have I learned a lot, but I have attained a skill that will enhance my employment opportunities.

I’m proud to say that through this training offered by Exclusive Training and Services, I have now been employed at the Evaton Fire Station and look forward to building on the foundation that Exclusive Training and Services has built upon my life.
